LONGTIME BICYCLIST HANK PFEIFLE, of Brunswick and the Cycle- Mania/Portland Velo Club, recently won the USA Cycling’s Masters National Cycling Championships (age 60-64) held in Bend, Ore. Pfeifle jumped out to an early lead and rode more than half the race solo to become a national champion. “The announcer said I was the first ever champion from Maine,” said Pfeifle. “One of the big deals of winning a national championship is that you get to wear the Stars & Stripes jersey for the year that follows!” Results can be found at www.usacycling.org.
