A Bowdoin Fire Department fire truck rolled into a utility pole Friday while crews were responding to a report of downed power lines on Main Street.

The incident was reported at 7:34 p.m.

Bowdoin Fire Chief Tom Garrepy said the fire department had responded to a call of downed wires at Main Street and Thurman Drive. The driver of the 9-year-old Engine 5 moved the truck from the downed lines but didn’t reset the air brakes, so the truck rolled ahead about 10 feet into a pole.

No one was injured and the pole did not need to be replaced. Garrepy said Monday he expects repairs will cost more than $1,000. The truck remains in service.
