SALEM, N.H.—Linden Vey and rookie Tyler Toffoli each recorded a goal and an assist to lead the Manchester Monarchs to a 7-1 win against the Portland Pirates in an AHL exhibition game at Salem ICENTER.
Jordan Weal, David Kolomatis, Andy Andreoff, Brandon Kozun and Slava Voynov also scored goals as the Monarchs — last year’s Atlantic Division defending champion — beat the Pirates for the second time in as many days.
With 5:59 left to play, rookie forward Darian Dziurzynski scored the lone goal for Portland.
The Pirates, who open the regular season Saturday night with a game against the Adirondack Phantoms in Glens Falls, N.Y., finished their preseason exhibition schedule with a 1-2 record.
