I am writing in support of the candidacy of Chris Tyll for Maine Senate in District 11.

His opponent is an independent, but since we have a two-party system, an independent legislator (no matter how nice or how smart) becomes irrelevant. He or she is only useful when one of the two parties needs leverage.

Dick Woodbury has a theoretical, professorial understanding of economics (what does an economist do, really?). Chris Tyll understands economics from the practical vantage point of running a business in Maine. And he belongs to one of the major parties. He will be able to make a substantial difference.

That’s why I’m casting my vote for Chris Tyll.
