SKOWHEGAN — Police are looking for a 15-year-old Skowhegan girl that has been missing since late October.

Samantha Quimby was last seen at the home of her mother, Laurie Evers, in Skowhegan in the early morning of Oct. 25, just hours after state police had tracked her down after she allegedly ran away from a foster home in Oakfield.

Skowhegan police say they are concerned because Quimby is protected by a protection from abuse order issued Friday in Skowhegan District Court and requested by the Department of Health and Human Services. The order names a relative who has allegedly engaged in “some sort of misconduct” and is not supposed to have contact with her, police said.

“Because she is a protective party it raises our awareness of this case,” said interim Police Chief Dan Summers.

“We have done pretty much everything we can to locate her and are looking for assistance from the public.”

Evers said that her daughter was last wearing gray sweat pants and a purple zip-up sweatshirt.

She is about 100 pounds and has long blond hair.

Police asked that anyone with information call the anonymous tip line at 474-6915.
