SOUTH PORTLAND — Incumbent Democratic Rep. Bryan Kaenrath has won a fourth, two-year term serving Maine House District 124 by defeating Republican challenger Kevin Battle, 2,092 to 1,870.

The vote totals are unofficial, but show Kaenrath carried all three city polling stations in the district comprised of the western part of the city. He won 52 percent of the vote.

Battle, 54, served almost 27 years before his retirement from the South Portland Police Department last January. He was making his first run for public office.

Kaenrath returns to his House seat after losing the Democratic primary for Maine Senate District 7 in June to Cape Elizabeth resident Rebecca Millett.
