MONARCHS NOTES: The injury-riddled Monarchs have lost three straight. On Oct. 20, rookie left wing Tanner Pearson had two goals and an assist in the Monarchs’ 6-4 win over the Pirates at the Verizon Wireless Center. Right wing Brandon Kozun has three winning goals. Goalie Martin Jones, who has started 12 of 14 games, has compiled a 2.20 goals-against average, fifth best among goalies with at least 10 starts.

PIRATES NOTES: The Pirates have lost their last two home games. Veteran center Alexandre Bolduc, who has nine goals to rank among the AHL’s top 10 in scoring, and rookie right wing Chris Brown each have scored two winning goals. Rookie center Brendan Shinnimin has had assists in each of his last three games. Veteran goalie Chad Johnson has won his last five starts, allowing six goals and posting two shutouts during that stretch.
