MIAMI – Ray Allen’s 3-pointer with 22 seconds left gave the Miami Heat the lead, and they held on to beat the short-handed San Antonio Spurs 105-100 on Thursday night to remain perfect at home this season.

The Spurs played without Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Danny Green, all sent home to rest in a move that raised the ire of NBA Commissioner David Stern, who said San Antonio would be hit with “substantial sanctions” for that decision. Stern also released a statement that said he apologizes “to all NBA fans.”

Still, the Heat needed to rally late. Down by one, LeBron James nearly lost the ball in the lane, then recovered and found Allen — who has already hit three late-game 3s to help Miami win at home this season, all set up by the reigning MVP.

CAVALIERS: Cleveland waived forward Luke Harangody and signed rookie forward Kevin Jones.

Harangody recently underwent arthroscopic knee surgery and is expected to be sidelined for another month. The former Notre Dame star appeared in 42 games over the past two seasons for Cleveland, averaging 4.5 points and 3.5 rebounds. He did not play in a game this season.

Jones was signed by Cleveland as an undrafted free agent this summer and was one of the last players cut at the end of training camp. He was assigned to the Cavs’ NBA Development team in Canton, where he’s averaging 27 points and 13.7 rebounds.

NETS: Brook Lopez is headed back to the sideline with more foot pain, though Brooklyn isn’t sure his latest problem is nothing like the broken foot that wrecked his 2011-12 season.

Lopez will miss the next two games because of a mild sprain of his right foot, and the Nets said he will be considered day to day after that. But after getting the results of an X-ray Thursday, General Manager Billy King is confident his center will be back on the floor shortly.

Lopez was hurt driving to the basket Wednesday night in the third quarter in a victory at Boston. He came up limping but stayed in the game for the next few minutes before coming out.

MAVERICKS: Veteran point guard Derek Fisher signed a contract with struggling Dallas, which is still playing without injured star Dirk Nowitzki and who lost Jason Kidd in free agency during the offseason.

Fisher, 38, who has played 16 NBA seasons with four teams, could make his Dallas debut in Saturday night’s home game against Detroit.

The Mavericks (7-9) have lost three in a row and eight of 11.

SUNS: Phoenix assigned first-round draft pick Kendall Marshall to the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA’s Development League.

The move was made to give more game experience to the former North Carolina star, who was the 13th selection overall in this year’s draft.

THUNDER: Rookie Jeremy Lamb was assigned to the team’s NBA Development League affiliate in Tulsa.

Lamb has appeared in eight games for Oklahoma City this season after being acquired as part of the preseason trade that sent James Harden to Houston.
