LUBEC — A commercial fisherman has recovered the wallet belonging to another fisherman who went down with his vessel three years ago in eastern Maine.
The Marine Patrol told the Bangor Daily News a fisherman dragged up a wallet in Cobscook Bay last week belonging to Joseph Jones, a Trescott fisherman whose 34-foot boat sank in October 2009 while dragging for sea urchins.
The body of one of Jones’ crewmen was found the next day and the body of his other crewman was found a couple months later. But there’s been no sign of Jones’ body since the accident.
Officials said there are lots of fishermen now in areas of Cobscook Bay that had been closed for three years, so it’s possible they might find something else connected to the accident.
