Maine energy officials say the average statewide price of home heating oil remains unchanged for the second consecutive week.

The Governor’s Energy Office said heating oil prices were averaging $3.64 a gallon Wednesday in its weekly price survey. Rates ranged from a high of $3.88 in eastern Maine to $3.38 in southern and western Maine.

The average price for propane dropped 2 cents from last week, remaining lower than this time a year ago.

Overall, crude oil prices have been trending upward, likely because of factors including U.S. budget negotiations, a weaker dollar and terrorism worries.
