AUBURN — The Mt. Ararat Middle School hockey team dropped a back-and-forth 3-2 Hawkins Division decision to Auburn at Ingersoll Arena on Sunday in Southern Maine Middle School Hockey League play.

Trailing 1-0 through two periods, Ryley Austin (assisted by Tyler Halls) tied it for the Eagles. Auburn jumped ahead 2-1, but Mt. Ararat battled right back on a Jason Magno goal.

Noah Austin and Mikaila Cloutier assisted on the tying marker.

However, Auburn scored with four minutes remaining in the period to secure the win.

Kyle Welch manned the net for the first two periods for Mt. Ararat, making several solid saves. Dylan Schenk played in goal in the third period.

The Eagles are 4-3-1 and currently in fourth place in the division, while Auburn improved to 7-0-1.
