PORTLAND – Serge Nyirikamba had 25 points and 11 rebounds Tuesday to lead Waynflete to a 61-50 victory against Old Orchard Beach in a Western Maine Conference schoolboy basketball game.

Paul Runyambo added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Flyers (8-1), who led 40-21 at halftime.

Jack Cutler scored 12 and Max Belleau 10 for Waynflete.

Joe Gildard paced the Seagulls (4-4) with 17 points. Quincy Grace added 13.

 

SCARBOROUGH 73, CHEVERUS 51: Sam Terry scored 24 points for the Red Storm (5-4), who took an 18-10 first-quarter lead and beat the Stags (3-6) at Portland.

Kevin Manning added 15 points, including four 3-pointers, Brendan Hall scored 11 and John Wheeler 10 for Scarborough.

 

PORTLAND 68, KENNEBUNK 33: Matt Talbot led a balanced offense with 12 points as the Bulldogs (9-0) beat the Rams (1-8) at Portland.

Justin Zukowski added 11 points and Jayvon Pitts-Young 10 for Portland, which led 43-19 at halftime.

 

GORHAM 47, WINDHAM 35: Elliott Spiers scored 15 points to pace the Rams (4-5), who closed the game on a 17-5 run to beat the Eagles (2-6) at Gorham.

Corey Nadeau added nine points on three 3-pointers and Dan Holmes scored eight points for Gorham.

 

DEERING 69, BIDDEFORD 51: Labson Abwoch scored 25 points and Thiwat Thiwat added 13 for the Rams (8-1), who pulled away from the Tigers (2-7) in the second half at Biddeford.

Abwoch scored 20 points in the second half, including 15 in the third quarter when Deering outscored Biddeford 21-5 to extend a 38-31 halftime lead to 59-36.

 

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 53, FREEPORT 36: Walker Mallory scored 10 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter as the Raiders (2-7) pulled away from the Falcons (1-7) at Freeport.

Jaquan Causer added 13 points for Fryeburg, which outscored Freeport 21-8 in the fourth quarter.

 

THORNTON ACADEMY 68, MARSHWOOD 65: Quinn Richardson-Newton finished with 23 points, Jeffrey Gelinas added 16 and Evan Wright 11 as the Trojans (3-5) beat the Hawks (3-6) at South Berwick.

Daniel Veino led Marshwood with 26 points, including eight 3-pointers. Brady Dodge finished with 15 points and Jack Letellier added 13.

 

GREELY 54, TRAIP ACADEMY 45: Michael McDevitt and Bailey Train scored 13 points apiece, and Jonah Normandeau added 11 as Greely (6-3) rallied past Traip Academy (4-5) at Cumberland.

Greely trailed 22-13 at halftime before outscoring Traip 19-6 in the third quarter behind eight points from reserve Connor McCarthy.

 

FALMOUTH 77, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 28: Charlie Fay scored 16 points as the Yachstmen (9-0) beat the Patriots (1-6) at Gray.

Grant Burfeind added 13 points and Jackson Simonds scored 12 for Falmouth.

BOOTHBAY REGION 67, WISCASSET 47: Anthony DiMauro scored 15 of his 22 points in the first half to lead Boothbay Region (8-1) to a 43-22 lead against the Wolverines (4-4) at Wiscasset.

 

RANGELEY 55, GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 34: Orin Mitchell scored 18 points and was 8 of 8 at the foul line to help Rangeley (2-4) defeat Greater Portland Christian (0-6) at South Portland.

David Duval led Greater Portland Christian with 16 points.

A.R. GOULD 67, SACOPEE VALLEY 43: Chris Thomas scored 10 of his 23 points in the first quarter, helping the Bears (5-3) open a 20-5 lead against Sacopee Valley (0-8) at South Portland.

Zacharia Mohamed, Salaman Mohamed and Tim Robertson finished with 10 points each for A.R. Gould. Alex Fenderson and Eric Martineau scored 12 each, and Dominic Locke 11 for the Hawks.

 

OCEANSIDE 67, MORSE 52: Daniel Hendricks scored 13 points, Sam Meklin 12 and Isaiah Stone-Patterson 10 to lead the Mariners (8-1) over Morse (4-5) at Rockland.

 

YARMOUTH 67, POLAND 44: Adam LaBrie made four 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 20 points, and David Murphy scored 15 to lead the Clippers (5-4) past the Knights (2-7) at Poland.

Christian Henry added 10 points for Yarmouth, which opened the second half with a 9-0 run to extend its lead to 55-34.

 

SOUTH PORTLAND 56, SANFORD 43: Jaren Muller scored 17 points, Ben Burkey 15 and Tanner Hyland 12 to lead the Red Riots (8-1) over Sanford (5-4) at South Portland.

The Spartans sank five 3-pointers in the first period to open a 23-15 lead. But South Portland extended its defense to hold Sanford to four points in both the second and third periods.

YARMOUTH 2, CAPE ELIZABETH 0: Isaak Dearden broke a scoreless tie with 1:15 left, and Connor Lainey added an empty-net goal 46 seconds later, to lift the Clippers (1-5-2) over Cape Elizabeth (2-5-1) at Yarmouth.
