FAIRFIELD (AP) — Police say they had to use a stun gun on a 48-year-old man who refused to leave a central Maine high school.

Police responded to Lawrence High School in Fairfield on Wednesday morning after getting complaints from school officials who say the man refused to leave when confronted by teachers.

Responding officers described the man as “confrontational and non-cooperative.”

An officer used a Taser to subdue the man outside the school when he refused to submit to arrest. He was not armed.

Police say they do not know why he was at the school in the first place, but believe he may have been looking for someone.

The man, identified as Ronald Brousseau, was charged with criminal trespass and refusing to submit to arrest. He was taken to a hospital.
