TOPSHAM — Jackie L. Perry, 72, of 40 Bradley Pond Road, died Sunday, January 13, 2013, at his home.

He was born on Bailey Island, Feb. 14, 1940, the son of James A. and Elsie B. Toothaker Perry and attended schools there.

He married Donna J. Bibber in Harpswell, August 5, 1960.

Mr. Perry was a bulldozer operator for R.A. Webber & Sons, became the 1st Recycling Director at Strawberry Creek and was a mechanic and equipment operator for Ronald Ponziani.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, singing, working in the outdoors and telling stories.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Reginald and Alfred Perry.

He is survived by his wife of Topsham; 3 daughters, Hilda-May Gifford and her husband, William, Jr., of Topsham,

Rosemarie Mello and her husband David of Harpswell and Rebecca Smith and her husband, Mark of Topsham; 7 grandchildren, Niomi, Krystal, Casey, Megan, Arthur, Kimberly and Jacob and 8 great grandchildren, Ryan, Izabellah, Andrew, Dustin, Amy, Jonathan, Olivia and Louis and a special niece, Edna Gail Reid.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal Street, Brunswick, with the Rev. Weston Murphy officiating. Interment will be in West Harpswell Cemetery in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to Topsham Fire and Rescue, 100 Main Street, Topsham, ME 04086.
