BRUNSWICK — Robin Scott Alexander, age 55, died at his home Friday January 11, 2013 surrounded by his family after a long courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Brunswick on May 9, 1957 a son of Kenneth and Jacqueline Coombs Alexander. He attended Brunswick and Topsham schools. He married Sharon Carpenter on July 11, 1981.

He worked several years in the area in construction and on the Brunswick Naval Air Station. He was most recently employed at the Receiving Warehouse for L.L. Bean, Freeport.

His family and friends knew him as a very generous and kind-hearted person who cared for and was always looking for ways to help other people. He enjoyed antiques, classic muscle cars, even tinkering as a backyard mechanic. Above all else he loved his family and children.

Robin was predeceased by his mother, Jaqueline Coombs (Alexander) Skelton.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Sharon; two sons, Travis Alexander of Brunswick, Troy Alexander of Brunswick; a daughter Tonya Bernier of Brunswick; His father, Kenneth Alexander of Lisbon Falls; two brothers, Spencer Alexander of Bowdoin, Jason Alexander of Bowdoin; four sisters, Brenda Uhle of Sabattus, Cindy Lebourdais of Brunswick, Cheryl Bathurst of Lisbon, Elaine Harris of North Carolina; two grandchildren, Trevor Bernier, Jocelyn Bernier; an expectant granddaughter due in May; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Friends and family can visit 5-7 PM Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal Street, Brunswick. A funeral service will follow Saturday at 1 PM at the funeral home. Interment will take place in the Spring in Varney Cemetery, Brunswick. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
