FALMOUTH — Harriette Goldman Pearl Kosoff, 99, of Falmouth, died peacefully Jan. 13.

Born Oct. 1, 1913, in Rochester, N.Y. to Phillip and Etta Raz Goldman. Kosoff was the last survivor of eight children.

She attended school in Rochester and on Sept. 3, 1939, she married her husband William Kosoff. Together they raised their son, Mitchell, and were married 64 years until William Kosoff’s death in 2003.

The Kosoffs raised their family in Syracuse, N.Y., where she was an avid reader and gardener. She also volunteered for many years at the Onondaga County flu clinics, the Syracuse Public Library and was an active member of the Jewish Community Center in Syracuse.

Kosoff was a proud grandmother to her three grandchildren, who called her Nana. On her many visits to Maine she enjoyed taking the children to the public library, shopping, local museums and many area restaurants.

She is survived by her son, Mitchel Kosoff and his wife, Sandra, of Scarborough, three grandchildren, Terri Harrington of Durham, N.H., Becki Wellman of Scarborough, and Mitchel Kosoff II of Westbrook, and eight great-grandsons.

Kosoff’s family held private services to honor her life. The family would like to thank her caregivers at Falmouth by the Sea.
