HARPSWELL — Three candidates submitted nomination papers to appear on the ballot for the March 9 Board of Selectmen election.
The deadline to submit petitions was Wednesday for candidates seeking to replace Selectman James Henderson, who announced last fall that he would not seek re-election.
One of the candidates, C. Matthew Rich, has unsuccessfully run for the board twice, most recently last year against Chairwoman Elinor Multer. His opponents this year for the open seat are Ellen Shillinglaw and Richard Daniel.
The town has scheduled a meet-and-greet with the candidates at 7 p.m. Feb. 20 at the High Head Clubhouse, 323 High Head Road. The snow date is Feb. 21.
Town Clerk Rosalind Knight, Tax Collector Jill Caldwell, and School Administrative District 75 Director Linda Hall also submitted papers for re-election. Barring any write-in candidates, all three will be uncontested.
Polls will be open between from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the March 9 Town Meeting.
