SOUTH CHINA — The Mt. Ararat High School jayvee girls basketball team defeated Erskine Academy 52-34 on Friday.

The 9-5 Eagles posted quarterly leads of 11-10, 19-20 and 36-28. Allison Melcher led with 15 points, while Erin Tome had 11 and Sara Lamb nine (three, 3-pointers). Erskine’s Megan Dunn had eight points.

At the line, Mt. Ararat was five of 14 and Erskine five of nine.
