DANIEL BERGERON of Phippsburg barely escaped what could have been a serious injury this morning when high winds blew a tree down and smashed the bed on the driver’s side of his 2009 Toyota Tacoma on Lemont Street in Bath. Lt. Stanley Cielinski said that Bergeron had moved just to the right to avoid a smaller limb moments earlier. “If he had stayed where he was, he probably would have been hit — a very lucky man,” Cielinski said. Bergeron, left, talks with Tom Ramsey of Bath Public Works.
