BATH — Patten Free Library is launching a book club for high school girls.

The first book the group will read is “Teen Idol” by Meg Cabot; it will be available for pickup at the library’s reference desk beginning Friday, Feb. 8.

Participants will have almost a month to read the book before a book group meeting and discussion during the first week in March.

Free copies of the book have been made available by Mainely Girls, a statewide nonprofit organization focused on bringing about positive change for girls.

The library has enlisted the help of Bowdoin College freshman Sarah Frankl to moderate the book club discussion in March.

For more information or to reserve a copy of “Teen Idol,” call 443-5141, extension 25, or email rjordan@ patten.lib.me.us.
