BIDDEFORD – Beth Suggs scored 23 points in 26 minutes Thursday as the University of New England extended its winning streak to 11 games with a 75-46 victory against Gordon in a Commonwealth Coast Conference women’s basketball game at Harold Alfond Forum.

Reserve Kelly Coleman chipped in with 13 points and Alanna Vose scored 12 for the Nor’easters (16-4, 13-0), who have won 20 straight conference games.

UNE never trailed and led 39-24 at halftime. The Nor’easters put the game out of reach with a 20-5 run at the start of the second half against Gordon (2-18, 0-13). Suggs is 24 points shy of 1,000 for her career.

(5) DUKE 82, MIAMI 43: Tricia Liston scored 17 points, Chelsea Gray added 16 and Duke (19-1, 9-0 Atlantic Coast) used a huge run early in the second half to rout Miami (14-7, 5-5) at Durham, N.C.

WISCONSIN 63, (7) PENN STATE 61: Morgan Paige scored a career-high 33 points to lead Wisconsin (10-11, 2-6 Big Ten) over Penn State (17-3, 7-1) at Madison, Wis.

(9) TENNESSEE 88, MISSISSIPPI STATE 45: Kamiko Williams scored 10 points and grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds in her first start of the season as Tennessee (17-4, 8-0 Southeast) routed Mississippi State (9-12, 1-7) at Knoxville, Tenn., for its 10th win in its last 11 games.

(11) NORTH CAROLINA 72, (20) FLORIDA STATE 62: Xylina McDaniel scored 19 points, and Waltiea Rolle added 18 and 10 rebounds as North Carolina (20-2, 8-1 Atlantic Coast) held off Florida State (17-4, 7-3) at Chapel Hill, N.C, giving Coach Sylvia Hatchell her 899th win.

(14) PURDUE 59, INDIANA 42: Sam Ostarello had 14 points to lead Purdue (18-3, 7-1 Big Ten) over Indiana (10-11, 1-7) at West Lafayette, Ind.

(16) TEXAS A&M 60, VANDERBILT 52: Courtney Walker scored 20 points to lead Texas A&M (17-5, 7-1 Southeast) over Vanderbilt (14-7, 4-4) at College Station, Texas.

ILLINOIS 74, (24) IOWA 62: Karisma Penn scored 18 points, Adrienne GodBold and Amber Moore added 17 apiece, and Illinois (12-8, 5-3 Big Ten) closed with a 14-2 run over the final 5:11 to knock off Iowa (16-6, 5-3) at Champaign, Ill.

(25) DELAWARE 70, GEORGIA STATE 38: Elena Delle Donne scored 25 points and Delaware (17-3, 8-0 Colonial Athletic) won its 12th consecutive game, defeating Georgia State (10-9, 2-6) at Atlanta.

GORDON 54, UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 40: Hans Miersma scored 11 points to pace a balanced offense as the Scots (14-6, 9-4) pulled away from the Nor’easters (4-16, 3-10) in the second half of a Commonwealth Coast Conference game at Biddeford.

Leading 19-17 at halftime, Gordon took control with a 20-9 run at the start of the second half and led by as many as 20 points.

Charles Fenner III led the Nor’easters with 11 points. Jesse Dykstra added 10 points and seven rebounds.

(13) MICHIGAN STATE 80, ILLINOIS 75: Keith Appling led a pivotal run early in the second half, and finished with 24 points to help Michigan State (18-4, 7-2 Big Ten) beat Illinois (15-7, 2-6) at East Lansing, Mich.
