VESTAL, N.Y. — Zarko Valjarevic scored 25 points and Maine beat Binghamton 64-60 Saturday night.
The Black Bears (11-15, 6-7 America East Conference) won their third straight thanks to Valjarevic and Alasdair Fraser, who posted a double double (10 points, 11 rebounds). Justin Edwards also finished in double figures for Maine with 12 points.
Maine led 33-20 at halftime, but Binghamton (3-23, 1-12) rallied behind a monster performance by Jordan Reed. He scored 29 points and grabbed 17 rebounds — 10 offensive. But while Reed went 11 for 15 at the foul line, he needed 32 shots to hit nine baskets.
Valjarevic was 5 of 11 from the floor — all 3-pointers.
