NORTH YARMOUTH — The North Yarmouth Business Association will hold its first community business trade show next week.

The event is billed as a way for the town’s more than 150 small businesses to show off their services and products.

It will be held at Wescustogo Hall, 475 Walnut Hill Road, from 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 8. There is no charge for admission, and the event is open to people from any community. There will be door prizes and light refreshments.

Membership in the association is open to people who operate businesses in North Yarmouth, and to North Yarmouth residents who own businesses elsewhere.

The businesses run a wide gamut, including the agricultural, carpentry, excavation, insurance, law, retail and restaurant fields, according to Leslie Taisey, treasurer of the association. Thaddeus Day, an attorney, is the group’s president.

The Economic Development and Sustainability Committee – which has gathered ideas for how to make the most of 114 acres of town-owned land in the village center, and which could present recommendations for a public vote at the June Town Meeting – will also offer information at the trade show, Taisey said.
