In celebration of National Youth Art Month in March, the Portland Museum of Art and the Maine Art Education Association are teaming up to present artwork by students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

The exhibition, on view through March 31 at the museum, showcases more than 100 works by students throughout the state.

This year marks the 33rd anniversary of Youth Art Month. It was created to emphasize the value of art education and to encourage public support for school art programs.

The museum, located at 7 Congress Square in Portland, is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Thursday and Saturday and Sunday; and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday.

Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and students, $6 for ages 13 to 17, and free for ages 12 and under.

Museum admission is free for everyone from 5 to 9 p.m. every Friday.
