WEST GARDINER – A northbound section of the Maine Turnpike, between West Gardiner and Augusta, has reopened after police shut the road down to remove multiple vehicles that crashed.

The Maine Turnpike Authority reported that both lanes of the road north of Exit 103 in West Gardiner had to be shut down after the crash, which took place around 7 p.m.

By 7:30 p.m., the road had been cleared and traffic was moving again, a state police dispatcher said.

No serious injuried were reported.
