LAKELAND, Fla. – Harry Ridge pitched six innings with seven strikeouts as the Bowdoin baseball team completed a sweep of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts 5-0 at Lake Bonny Park.

The Polar Bears (6-1) scored three in the first on a home run by Matt Sevard, a single by Dan Findley and a groundout.

Michael Staes and Stephen Girolamo scored on wild pitches in the sixth inning.

In the first game, Timothy McGarry was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the sixth inning to give Bowdoin a 3-2 win.

ST. JOSEPH’S, UMASS-BOSTON SPLIT: Chad Rafferty hurled a four-hitter with six strikeouts to lead the Monks to a 5-0 win in the opener at Frostproof, Fla.

Nic Lops was 3 for 3 with two RBI and Mike Pratt also drove in two runs.

Pratt, who homered in each game, was 3 for 4 with two RBI in the second game, a 4-2 win by the Beacons (1-2).

MAINE 8, QUINNIPIAC 7: Jean Stevens hit a three-run homer and Hilary Kane added a two-run blast as the Black Bears edged the Bobcats (4-14) at Clearwater, Fla.

MAINE 2, RHODE ISLAND 1: Hannah Hill scattered seven hits and struck out five to lead the Black Bears (3-22) over the Rams (3-9) at Clearwater, Fla.

Jean Stevens hit a two-run homer in the third.

ST. JOSEPH’S 4, FRANKLIN & MARSHALL 2: Rae-Marie Copan pitched a six-hitter with 10 strikeouts, and Melissa Mayhew and Theresa Hendrix each drove in two runs for the Monks against the Diplomats (7-2) at Fort Myers, Fla.

ST. JOSEPH’S 7, NYU POLYTECHNIC 0: Theresa Hendrix pitched a two-hitter and Heather Tripp had three hits with three RBI as the Monks (8-2) handled the Fighting Blue Jays (0-2) at Fort Myers, Fla.

KEENE STATE 8, BOWDOIN 4: Gen Barlow hit a three-run double and Julia Geaumont had an RBI double for Bowdoin in a loss to the Owls.

RIPON 13, BOWDOIN 5: Dimitria Spathakis drove in two runs with a triple and a single and scored twice for Bowdoin (4-2) in a loss to the Red Hawks (5-5) at Clermont, Fla.

BATES 4, WESTFIELD STATE 3: Caroline Gattuso ended it with a two-run double as the Bobcats scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning at Clermont, Fla.

BATES 2, BECKER 0: Kelsey Freedman and Caroline Gattuso combined on a three-hitter for the Bobcats (3-1).
