PORTLAND — Portland police were called to oversee the removal of a 65-year-old man’s body from a room at Motel Six on Riverside Street Sunday afternoon.

Lt. Gary Hutcheson of the Portland Police Department said the medical examiner’s office was notified, but the man’s death does not appear to be suspicious.

“He died in his room of natural causes,” Hutcheson said.

Hutcheson said the man, who was a transient, was a guest of the motel and had not been living there, police said.

The man’s body, which was discovered around noon, was taken to a local funeral home.
