BRUNSWICK — Greely toppled Brunswick 50-33 Sunday to win the Brunswick Recreation Department’s Fifth- Grade Boys Basketball Tournament.

 

 

Logan Bagshaw poured in 17 points, while Nick Butler and Dylan Morrison added nine each and Jakob Bernheisel six.

After an 11-11 start, Greely led 25-21 and 40-28 at the breaks and was one of nine at the line.

In the Brunswick effort, Owen Richardson had eight points, Noah Goddard and Soloman Levy six each, and Jack Harvey and Everett Horch four each. Brunswick was two of 14 at the line.

The three-team event featured a round-robin with three games on Saturday.

Greely 42-28

Greely opened with a win over Brunswick with quarterly leads of 14-11, 22-13 and 30- 21 as Bagshaw had 15 points and Morrison 12. Greely was three of eight at the line.

In the Brunswick effort, Levy popped in 14 points and James Belanger six, while Richardson, Coenradt Taylor, Joshua Musica and Evan Cox were offensive contributors.

Greely 59-21

Greely then hooked up with Gardiner as Bagshaw erupted for 33 points and Butler added six.

Greely led 21-6, 33-17 and 45- 19 at the breaks and was six of 12 at the line.

Evan Wells paced Gardiner with eight points, and the losing team was five of 14 at the charity stripe.

Brunswick 48-17

Brunswick dismantled Gardiner as Belanger tossed in 10 points, Harvey nine and Cox and Levy eight each.

Brunswick trailed 5-4 after one, but led 14-7 at the half and 25-9 after three. Brunswick attempted eight foul shots and made two.

For Gardiner, Jackson Tweedy had 12 points and Gardiner was one of two at the line.

Brunswick 47-18

On Sunday, Brunswick and Gardiner met again with the winner advancing to the championship game.

In this one Brunswick led 6- 2, 15-6 and 29-11 and was five of 15 at the line.

Levy led with 10 points, while Cox had eight, Harvey seven, Musica, Horch and Belanger six each, and Richardson and Goddard also helped out on offense.

Gardiner was led by Logan Carlton and Wells with six each. Gardiner was two of eight at the line.
