Gov. Paul LePage on Monday signed 10 bills into law. That brings the total number of bills that he’s signed this session to 13.

LePage has so far vetoed three bills, including one that would prohibit teens under age 18 from using a commericial indoor tanning booth. 

The governor has allowed at least seven bills to become law without his signature. 

LePage will soon act on L.D. 611, a bill that would raise the minimum wage to $9 an hour by 2016. The proposal received final enactment in the House on Tuesday. LePage is expected to veto the bill.

The bills he signed Monday were all unanimously approved by the Democratic-controlled Legislature. The list of bills and the accompanying legislative summary (when needed) are pasted below:

— L.D. 157 – An Act To Modify Administration of the Fund Insurance Review Board

— L.D. 187 –  An Act To Permit Temporary Operation of a Motor Vehicle with an Expired Operator’s License Solely for the Purpose of Traveling Home or Renewing the License

— L.D. 240 – An Act To Allow Motor Fuel Taxable Sales Disclosure

This bill provides that monthly reports of the number of gallons of taxable gasoline and special fuel sold in the state are not confidential.

— L.D. 246 – An Act To Provide for the 2013 and 2014 Allocations of the State Ceiling on Private Activity Bonds

This bill establishes the allocations of the state ceiling on issuance of tax-exempt private activity bonds for calendar years 2013 and 2014. This bill allocates the state ceiling among the state-level issuers of tax-exempt bonds.

— L.D. 255 – An Act To Establish July 27th as Maine Korean War Veteran Recognition Day

— L.D. 284 – An Act To Amend the Duties of the Division of Forestry

This bill requires the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, Division of Forestry to conduct a landowner relations program and repeals a requirement that the division print copies of forestry and forestry-related laws biennially.

— L.D. 288 – An Act Concerning Brucellosis Vaccines for Cattle

Current law refers to a federal brucellosis classification that will be revised in 2014. This bill removes reference to Class A and B and refers to 9 Code of Federal Regulations, Part 78 as the means for allowing brucellosis-free cattle to be brought into the State, to prevent the necessity of revision in the near future.

— L.D. 325 – An Act To Repeal Provisions of the Law That Apply or Refer to State Facilities for Persons with Disabilities

— L.D. 372 – An Act To Transfer the Responsibilities of the Department of Public Safety, Maine Communications System Policy Board to the Bureau of Consolidated Emergency Communications

This bill transfers the powers and duties of the Department of Public Safety, Maine Communications System Policy Board to the Bureau of Consolidated Emergency Communications within that department.

— L.D. 416 – An Act To Allow Complainants in Disciplinary Actions To Attend Informal Conferences Held by the State Board of Nursing in Executive Session

This bill confirms that the complainant may be present and speak during an informal conference conducted by the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation, State Board of Nursing regarding a disciplinary action against a licensee.
