BOWDOINHAM
The Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Bowdoinham man they say was wheeling a large battery charger out of the garage of a neighbor on Carding Machine Road Thursday afternoon.
Darrell Wilson, 28, of Bowdoinham, is being charged with theft.
Lt. Calvin Temple said the sheriff’s department received a call at 1:49 p.m. from a Carding Machine Road resident reporting suspicious activity. Cpl. Ian Alexander arrived to find a man wheeling a battery charger across the lawn. Temple said the man then threw the charger into a storage shed then saw Alexander, prompting him to run into the home of the elderly man who owns the charger.
Temple said Alexander went inside the house to find the man who lives at the residence sitting in a chair, and Wilson standing behind him talking on the home phone.
The homeowner told Alexander he had not let Wilson borrow the battery charger.
