FREEPORT — Police arrested a Brunswick man April 10 and charged him with several burglaries at area businesses.

Willis L. Jordan III was arrested at about 9:30 a.m. at a residence on Litchfield Road in connection with burglaries in Freeport, Yarmouth and Brunswick, Police Department Lt. Susan Nourse said.

The police departments of all three towns coordinated to make the arrests, Nourse said, using two search warrants at the Litchfield Road property. Police reportedly found “clothing, computer items, a bank deposit bag” and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Some of the items were allegedly stolen from the McDonald’s in Freeport, Mike’s Convenience Store in Brunswick and Romeo’s Pizza in Yarmouth. Nourse declined to comment on other items found during the arrest, but said they may be connected to additional burglaries.

The undisclosed items matched characteristics of items from a string of burglaries in the area, she said.

Although Jordan’s last known residence was on Everett Street in Brunswick, Nourse said he had been staying at the Litchfield Road residence.

Jordan was being held in Cumberland County Jail on charges of burglary and aggravated criminal mischief. Bail was set at $25,000 and he was scheduled to be arraigned April 12.
