SMCC spring season continues
The Southern Maine Community College baseball and softball teams continued the spring portion of their schedules last weekend. Baseball swept a doubleheader over Eastern Maine CC, 9-0 and 6-4, then split a twinbill at Dean College, winning the opener, 12-8, and dropping the nightcap, 5-1. The Seawolves took an overall record of 15-13-1 and a Yankee Small College Conference mark of 7-1 into Tuesday’s contest at Northern Essex CC. The softball team swept a wild doubleheader over EMCC last Saturday, 6-5 and 21-20, then lost a pair at Dean College, 16-2 and 8-0, Sunday to fall to 3-11 overall (3-3 in conference). The Seawolves hosted rival CMCC Thursday and play two games at CCRI Monday.
