SKOWHEGAN – Michele Corson of Skowhegan, who is charged as a conspirator and accomplice in a murder in New Hampshire, was arraigned Friday in Somerset County District Court.

Corson, 43, appeared in court via video from the Somerset County Jail for a formal statement on the charges against her. She was not asked to submit a plea.

Corson said that she had read and understood her rights and that she understood the charges against her.

She has been held as a fugitive from justice since her arrest Wednesday night at her home.

She is accused of involvement in the death of Amanda Warf, 36, of New Hampshire in March.

Warf was the former wife of Corson’s brother, Aaron Desjardins, 36, of Epping, N.H., who is charged with Warf’s murder.

Warf was found dead with a slit throat at an abandoned cement factory in Exeter, N.H.

Also charged in the homicide is Sarah Desjardins, Aaron Desjardins’ current wife, who is accused of conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit hindering apprehension or prosecution.

According to state law, Corson does not have a right to bail. Her extradition hearing has been scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday in Skowhegan District Court to determine whether she will return to New Hampshire for prosecution.

According to New Hampshire Assistant Attorney General Susan Morrell, being an accomplice to first-degree murder is a felony punishable by life in prison without parole.

The conspiracy charge is also a felony, punishable by 15 to 30 years in prison, she said.
