FRYEBURG – Fryeburg Academy scored three runs in the first and third innings, plus two in the second, and went on to an 8-0 victory against Sacopee Valley in a Western Maine Conference softball game Wednesday.

MacKayla Frost had RBI singles in the first and third innings for the Raiders (3-0).

Maddie Pearson singled home both second-inning runs.

Sarah Harriman pitched a four-hitter for Fryeburg, striking out nine against the Hawks (1-2).

CAPE ELIZABETH 11, FALMOUTH 1: Tess Haller drove in two runs with a pair of squeeze bunts, and Ashley Tinsman tripled, singled and drove in a run as the Capers (3-0) downed the Yachtsmen (0-1) at Cape Elizabeth.

SCARBOROUGH 17, GORHAM 1: Alyssa Williamson struck out 11, walked two and gave up one hit as the Red Storm (2-0) posted a five-inning victory against Gorham (0-2) at Scarborough.

Erin Giles hit a two-run homer in the third inning and Marisa O’Toole added a three-run shot in the fourth. O’Toole finished with five RBI and Giles had four.

KENNEBUNK 4, MARSHWOOD 1: Carinn Burns went 3 for 3 and struck out eight while throwing a six-hitter to lead the Rams (1-0) past the Hawks (2-1) at Kennebunk.

ERSKINE ACADEMY 13, MT. ARARAT 5: Avery Bond and Kaitlyn Sutter slapped two-run singles as Erskine Academy (2-2) scored eight times in the sixth inning to open a 13-1 lead against the Eagles (1-3) at Topsham.

SANFORD 4, BIDDEFORD 3: Freshman Nicole Main drove in two runs with her first varsity hit and ended the game by scoring on a wild pitch as the Spartans (1-2) used a four-run seventh inning to overcome Biddeford (0-2) at Sanford.

Abby Paquet of Biddeford had a two-hit shutout going into the seventh, but wrapped two outs around a walk and a single, then walked Emily Begin to load the bases. Main and Sam Fecteau delivered singles to tie it.

Sam Adams of Sanford struck out nine, gave up three hits and walked one.

TRAIP ACADEMY 18, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 2: Emma Richardson had three hits, including two triples, with four RBI as the Rangers (1-1) handled the Seagulls (0-2) in five innings at Kittery.

Kaylie Andrews was 4 for 4 with two RBI and Emily Bolton had three hits with an RBI for Traip, which scored 15 runs in the third.

CHEVERUS 3, MCAULEY 1: Brittany Bell scored the winning run on a Katie Roy triple in the eighth inning as visiting Cheverus (3-0) edged McAuley (0-2) at Portland.

Roy added a run on a passed ball.

NOBLE 14, PORTLAND 2: Nicole Lanoie hit a two-run inside-the-park homer that ended the game in the sixth inning as the Knights (3-0) beat Portland (0-2) at North Berwick.

Tori Cormier doubled home two runs and scored a third as Noble, leading 3-2, took control with an eight-run fifth.

FREEPORT 5, YORK 4: Amanda Miles scored on a single by Jill Baker in the eighth inning to lift the Falcons (1-2) over the Wildcats (0-2) at York.

WINDHAM 17, DEERING 1: Mary Sawari hit a grand slam in the second inning and Morgan Richmond followed with a solo homer, and Windham (2-1) went on to beat Deering (0-3) at Portland.

The Eagles took advantage of walks and errors to end the game with a seven-run sixth.

POLAND 4, WELLS 2: Poland (2-1) used a four-run sixth inning, including an RBI single by Paige Brousseau, to overcome the Warriors (1-1) at Wells.

Wells held a 2-0 lead on a third-inning single by Meghan Young and Jordan Agger’s homer in the fourth.

OCEANSIDE 10, MORSE 1: Rachael Frye pitched a no-hitter with eight strikeouts and one walk as Oceanside (4-0) downed Morse (0-4) at Bath.

Brook Dugan drove in five runs.

SOUTH PORTLAND 6, THORNTON ACADEMY 2: Erin Bogdanovich had two hits, scored twice and pitched a three-hitter to lead the Red Riots (2-1) past the Trojans (2-1) at Saco.

Olivia Indorf added two hits and three RBI for South Portland.

GREELY 2, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Danielle Cimino pitched a four-hit shutout as Greely (3-0) held off Gray-New Gloucester (3-1) at Cumberland.

The Rangers scored their runs in the first inning on singles by Cimino and Michaela Twitchell.

MARSHWOOD 16, WESTBROOK 3: Korinne Bohunsky had five goals and two assists as Marshwood (2-0) rolled past the Blue Blazes (0-2) at Westbrook.

Alli Schiff and Janay Wright added three goals apiece for the Hawks.

GREELY 14, YORK 11: Julia Mitiguy had four goals and three assists as Greely won an opener at York.

Paige Tuller had five goals and one assist for the Rangers.
