LEWISTON – Nick Grady hit an RBI triple, scored a run and finished with three hits Wednesday to lead the University of Southern Maine to a 9-4 victory against Bates in a nonconference college baseball game.

Anthony Pisani drove in a pair of runs and scored twice, and John Carey added two RBI for the Huskies (31-6), who scored three runs in the sixth inning and six in the seventh.

Sam Berry had two hits, two RBI and a run for Bates (15-16).

MAINE 11, UM-FARMINGTON 1: Mike Connolly played all nine positions for the Black Bears (27-17) against the Beavers (9-23) at Orono.

Fran Whitten hit his second home run in two days and Eric White had four hits for the Black Bears.

The Beavers scored in the first on a triple by Matthew Woodbury.

The Black Bears used six pitchers, including Connolly, who retired the one batter he faced in the seventh.

MEN’S LACROSSE

ENDICOTT 15, UNE 6: Joshua Tordik had three goals and five assists, and Harrison Cotter also had three goals, leading the top-seeded Gulls (13-5) past the No. 4 Nor’easters (13-5) in a Commonwealth Coast Conference semifinal at Beverly, Mass.

Pat Wolfe scored twice and Tyler Thomas had three assists for UNE.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

ENDICOTT 19, UNE 6: Kelly Tierney scored six goals as the second-ranked Gulls (11-7) scored 11 of the final 12 goals to beat the sixth-seeded Nor’easters (7-10) in a Commonwealth Coast Conference semifinal at Beverly, Mass.

Hannah Tavella scored two goals and Macki Hill added a pair of assists for the Nor’easters.
