Bishop Richard J. Malone of the Diocese of Portland has announced the following priest assignments.

Effective June 1:

James Plourde, currently pastor of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish in Calais, has been appointed pastor of Notre Dame du Mont Carmel Parish in Madawaska, pastor of Our Lady of the Valley Parish in St. Agatha, and administrator of St. Peter Chanel Parish in Van Buren.

Jacques LaPointe, currently administrator of Notre Dame du Mont Carmel Parish in Madawaska and administrator of St. Peter Chanel Parish in Van Buren, has been appointed pastor of St. Peter Chanel Parish in Van Buren (with no temporal administrative responsibilities). LaPointe will also assist in Notre Dame du Mont Carmel Parish in Madawaska.

Kent Ouellette, currently pastor of Our Lady of the Snows in Dexter and St. Agnes in Pittsfield, has been assigned as parochial vicar of Notre Dame du Mont Carmel Parish in Madawaska, Our Lady of the Valley Parish in St. Agatha, and St. Peter Chanel Parish in Van Buren.

Robert Lupo, currently parochial vicar of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Auburn and Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Norway, has been appointed pastor of St. Kateri Tekakwitha in Calais.

Effective July 1:

Joseph Cahill, currently parochial vicar of four parishes in Vicariate V: St. Joseph Parish in Bridgton, Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Windham, St. Anne in Gorham and St. Anthony in Westbrook, has been appointed pastor of two parishes in Vicariate II: St. Agnes in Pittsfield and Our Lady of the Snows in Dexter.

Effective Aug. 1:

Greg Dube, currently hospital chaplain at Maine Medical Center and Mercy Hospital in Portland, and also parochial vicar in the Portland Peninsula and Island Parishes (Cathedral Parish, Sacred Heart/St. Dominic Parish, St. Christopher Parish, St. Louis Parish, and St. Peter Parish), has been appointed pastor of Holy Savior Parish in Rumford.

Robert Vaillancourt, currently pastor of Holy Savior Parish in Rumford, has been assigned as hospital chaplain at Maine Medical Center and Mercy Hospital in Portland, and as parochial vicar with weekend responsibilities in the Portland Peninsula and Island Parishes (Cathedral Parish, Sacred Heart/St. Dominic Parish, St. Christopher Parish, St. Louis Parish, and St. Peter Parish).
