CAPE ELIZABETH – Ali Merrill took advantage of a cage left empty because of a goalie yellow card, scoring the winning goal with 10 minutes left Thursday as Yarmouth beat Cape Elizabeth 8-7 in a schoolgirl lacrosse game.

The goal was the second of the game for Merrill.

Grace O’Donnell scored four goals for the Clippers (4-3); Olivia Conrad added two. Lauren Steidl scored four goals and Abby McInerney added two for the Capers (4-3).

DEERING 9, NOBLE 7: Maddy Mazjanis scored five goals for the Rams (3-4), who held off the Knights (0-7) at Portland.

Julianna Salamone added two goals for Deering, which led 4-3 at halftime and extended the lead to 9-5 in the second half.

Chandler Waterman scored four goals for Noble.

CHEVERUS 9, SCARBOROUGH 7: Alex Logan scored four goals to lift the Stags (5-1) over the Red Storm (4-2) in overtime at Scarborough.

Abby Mills and Ainsley Jamieson scored two goals apiece for Scarborough.

FALMOUTH 18, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 3: Alex Bernier had seven goals, Sabring Smithwick added three and Sarah Hutcheon stopped 16 shots as the Yachtsmen (4-2) handled the Raiders (1-5) at Fryeburg.

Kendra Fox, Kyra Hunsicker and Mackenzie Hill scored for Fryeburg.

YORK 19, WELLS 6: Courtney Cole had seven goals and two assists as the Wildcats (4-2) cruised past the Warriors (3-4) at York.

Taylor Simpson and Lizzy Wagner chipped in with four goals and two assists each for York. Ruby Cribby had two goals.

Nicki Moody and Jasmine Loukola had two goals each for Wells.

GARDINER 10, CAMDEN HILLS 7: Brooke Davis scored six goals to lead the Tigers (7-0) over Camden Hills (4-2) at Gardiner.

Ally Day added two goals, and Julie Krouse and Brooke Curtis had one apiece for Gardiner. Day and Krouse also had two assists, and Maddy Cutler made 12 saves.

Caroline Mateo had three goals and two assists for Camden Hills. Cailand Sweeting stopped nine shots.

CONY 21, EDWARD LITTLE 11: Hayley Quirion had five goals and two assists, and Bayleigh Logan added four goals and four assists as the Rams (5-2) downed Edward Little (2-4) at Auburn.

Josie Lee and Emily Quirion both added four goals and three assists for Cony. Haley Hanks had two goals, Katie Carroll had a goal and an assist, and Autymn Robinson added a goal. Elizabeth Dennison earned the win with 11 saves.

The game was delayed about 30 minutes because of lightning.

Taylor Landry had five goals and an assist for Edward Little. Kate Sawyer and Kara Tancrel each aded two goals, Allarie Lever had a goal and two assists, and Taylor Berube added a goal. Julia Languin had six saves.

BOYS’ LACROSSE

YARMOUTH 12, LAKE REGION 0: Nick Ronan had three goals and an assist, and Joe Oliver added four assists as the Clippers (4-1) beat Lake Region (2-5) at Yarmouth.

Ian Edgecomb had two goals and an assist, and Ethan Cyr and Isaak Dearden each scored twice.

SOFTBALL

KENTS HILL 25, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 6: Savanna Pooler had a home run, a triple and a double to lead the Huskies at Kents Hill.

Abi Bowie and Molly McAleer also hit home runs for Kents Hill. Emma Curnin, Bridget West and McAleer added doubles.

BASEBALL

MT. VIEW 13, LINCOLN ACADEMY 7: Mt. View scored six runs in the 10th inning at Newcastle.

Both teams scored once in the eighth and twice in the ninth.

Lincoln scored in the bottom of the seventh to tie it.

Mike Hustus was 2 for 3 with two walks and scored three times, and Ricky Moulton was 4 for 5 with a run, two walks and three RBI for Mt. View. Ashton Reynolds added three hits and an RBI, and Kenny McGray was 2 for 6 with a run.
