MANCHESTER, N.H. – A sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth inning off Will Latimer lifted the New Hampshire Fisher Cats to a 5-4 win over the Portland Sea Dogs Wednesday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

Trailing 4-1, Portland rallied with three runs in the top of the ninth inning. Michael Almanzar led off with a double, advanced to third on walks by Shannon Wilkerson and Christian Vazquez and scored on a wild pitch. Peter Hissey’s two-run single then tied the game.

The Fisher Cats had just four hits in the game, two each by Ricardo Nanita and John Tolisano, but took advantage of 14 walks by Portland.

Charlie Haeger started for the Sea Dogs and gave up two runs on two hits and seven walks. He fanned four in his five innings.

Haeger was relieved by Daniel Bard, who walked five of his eight batters while giving up two runs and one hit in one-plus inning.

Latimer relieved Bard with runners on first and second and nobody out in the bottom of the seventh. He struck out the first batter and followed that with a double play to keep the New Hampshire lead at 4-1.
