BATH

Bath police are looking for the man they say was naked when he tried to attract the attention of a young girl playing outside her home Friday night.

Bath Police Chief Michael Field stated in a press release today that at approximately 7:40 p.m. Friday, Bath police were called to a residence in Maritime Apartments. A 10-year-old girl was playing near the fence line that borders the apartments and Oak Grove Cemetery.

“The young girl reported to her mother that an adult male standing on the opposite side of the fence attempted to have the girl look at him,” Field said. “The male was naked.  The young girl ran back to her house and reported it to her mother.”

Police say the girl’s mother went to the area where her daughter reported seeing the man and observed a Chevrolet sport utility vehicle leaving. She told police the last two letters on the license plate were “TF.”

The man is described as white, heavy-set and 50 to 60 years old, with whitish-grey hair and no facial hair.

Field said police conducted a thorough search of the area and notified other local police departments. Police had no further information to release this morning and continue to investigate the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Bath Police Department at 443-5563.
