SACO – Carly McKenna’s four goals powered Thornton Academy to a 5-3 girls’ lacrosse win over Cheverus on Tuesday.

Thornton (8-3) opened a 3-1 halftime lead, and twice countered when the Stags (8-2) puled to within one in the second half.

Alex Logan had two of the three Stags goals that slipped past Trojans goalie Allie McCarthy, who finished with seven saves.

YORK 7, FREEPORT 6: Courtney Cole scored four goals, Ruby Cribby had two and the Wildcats (7-3) held off the visiting Falcons (5-5).

Jocelyn Davee had four goals for Freeport.

MARSHWOOD 9, SCARBOROUGH 5: Lindsey Poirier’s four goals and an assist led Marshwood (7-3) over the Red Storm (6-4) in Scarborough.

Ali Schoff added two goals for the Hawks.

MCAULEY 9, WESTBROOK 7: Katherine Lake scored four goals and Kaeli Leddy added three goals and an assist to help McAuley (2-8) win at Westbrook.

Tori Winton and Katie Berry each had two goals and an assist for the Blue Blazes (2-7).

MASSABESIC 12, BONNY EAGLE 1: Rayne Whitten scored five goals to lead the Mustangs (7-3) past the Scots (4-6) at Standish.

Alexis Lambert scored for Bonny Eagle.

SANFORD 14, NOBLE 12: Liz Helmreich and Caroline L’Heureux scored four goals each for the Spartans (1-9) in a victory over Noble (0-10) at Sanford.

Marissa Goodrich scored five goals for the Knights.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 14, WELLS 11: Alex Wahlstrom had seven goals during a North Yarmouth (3-7) win against the Warriors (3-7) in Wells.

Maddie Andrews and Nicki Moody each had three goals for Wells.

WINDHAM 13, BIDDEFORD 2: Christina Pollard scored five goals as the Eagles (6-4) dominated Biddeford (4-5) in Windham.

Lauren Coughlin and Luisa Sbardella scored two goals each for Windham.

KENNEBUNK 19, GORHAM 12: Rose Bryant scored eight goals to lead host Kennebunk (7-4) past Gorham.

Katie Tucker scored five goals and Kali St. Germain had four for Gorham.

CONY 16, BRUNSWICK 10: Emily Quirion scored six goals to lead the Rams in Brunswick.

Bayleigh Logan also scored three goals for the Rams (7-3).

Eliza Brooks had four goals and Libby Darfour added a pair for the Dragons (3-8).

SOFTBALL

NOBLE 24, KENNEBUNK 3: Melodie Bailey had four hits, including a long home run and two doubles, while powering the Knights (11-3) to a five-inning rout of Kennebunk (5-8) in North Berwick.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 2, POLAND 1: Kaelyn Woods scored on a passed ball in the second and singled home Alex Thompson in the fifth as the Patriots (8-5) edged Poland (7-5) in Gray.

GREELY 11, YARMOUTH 8: Mykaela Twitchell hit a three-run homer in the third, then broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring triple in the seventh, leading Greely (11-2) to a win at Yarmouth (6-7).

The Rangers strung together four hits and two walks in their five-run seventh.

Melissa Levinson hit a two-run double and Mari Cooper had two hits and an RBI for the Clippers.

FALMOUTH 9, YORK 4: Maddie Inlow went 2 for 3 with a triple, a home run, three RBI and three runs scored to lead the Yachtsmen (7-5) past the Wildcats (3-9) at Falmouth.

Marquis MacGlashing hit a two-run homer for York.

ERSKINE 12, BRUNSWICK 11: Alison Gauvin had three singles and Taylor Boucher and Alyssa Gartley each had two hits for the Eagles (7-6) at Brunswick.

Leah Andreotti had three singles for Brunswick (0-14).
