KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Bowdoin College senior Kellen Alberstone has been named the Division III Senior Player of the Year by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

Honoring the senior player deemed most accomplished during their intercollegiate career, Alberstone was just the second Bowdoin women’s tennis player to be named the ITA’s Northeast Region Senior Player of the Year and is the first Polar Bear to win the national award.

A three-year captain, Alberstone was named an All- NESCAC honoree all four years of her career, along with earning three ITA All- American honors, which is the most in school history.

With her 18 singles victories on the season she has upped her career total to 58, which is good enough for sixth-best all-time in Bowdoin women’s tennis history. Alberstone helped her team to a Top 10 national ranking this season, along with making major contributions to the team’s run to the third round of the NCAA Team Championship.
