The School Board has put together a budget that provides the continued educational components and programs that keep Falmouth a top school system. Over the last several years, the amount of state aid has dwindled by approximately $1.7 million and we face the impact of another funding shift from the state to the local municipalities this year. Unfortunately, this results in the local taxpayers having to pick up the tab. I don’t like tax increases either, but it is very evident to me that the School Board worked hard to keep the mil rate increase to a minimum and produced a healthy, balanced, and fiscally responsible budget to be voted on this year.

I hope that you will join me in voting yes for this year’s proposed budget as it will provide another year of quality education for our children.
