SKOWHEGAN – Skowhegan Savings is buying five bank branches in western Maine from Camden National Bank.

The two banks say the sale of the branches in Farmington, Kingfield, Phillips, Rangeley and Stratton is expected to be completed by the end of the year. The purchase includes about $87 million in customer deposits, $44 million in loans and $600,000 worth of real estate and equipment.

Skowhegan Savings now has 10 branches. Camden National says it has 49 bank offices statewide.
