Lamoreau, a member of Troop 669, had to earn 21 merit badges — 11 of which are specific to achieving Eagle — in order to become an Eagle Scout.
The Eagle-specific badges are all related to citizenship and personal management and growth.
Lamoreau also had to complete a service project — which he organized and oversaw, from beginning to end — to restore the McFadden cemetery on Carding Machine Road in Bowdoinham.
Many of the 15 stones and bases were buried under- ground up to 3 feet deep.
The stones had come free from their bases and the plot was completely overgrown.
The project took three weekends and more than 75 hours to complete.
Lamoreau lives in Bath with his godparents, Burt and Sallie Curtis; and his younger brother, Cody.
He graduated June 9 from Morse High School, attended Dirigo Boys State last year and is a member of the National Honor Society.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
