Performances at Deertrees Theatre in Harrison kick into high gear once Independence Day celebrations have passed. The theatre has successfully experimented with a few early performances this year with events in May and June, but the season starts in earnest on Saturday, July 6, at 7:30 p.m. with the popular “Beatles for Sale” Beatles cover band and then on Sunday, July 7, at 4 p.m. with an afternoon concert with the a cappella group, “The Side Notes,” which will be presenting a benefit concert of “Summer Songs.”

According to Deertrees’ executive director Andrew Harris, “Beatles for Sale played a benefit concert for us last year. They played to a packed house and their support of us meant a great deal to our financial recovery. We are so grateful to them. Audiences love them and they provide such a great concert. This year the program will be new, extensive and our audience will be in for a great evening. We are hoping for a sellout performance again.”

The Side Notes are a young a cappella group, Harris added: “They are full of life, sparkle and energy and will provide the perfect entertainment for a summer afternoon. I saw them last Christmas, invited them to join us this summer and asked them if they could provide a program of all their favorite and best known songs of summer.”

Tickets are available for both concerts from the theatre’s box office by calling 583-6747.
