PORTLAND — Federal prosecutors say a Maine man has been sentenced to 20 months in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Thirty-five-year-old Daniel Fowler of Lewiston had pleaded guilty to the charges in March.

Lewiston Police say they spotted Fowler running and carrying what looked like a bag with a barrel of a gun sticking out of it last July.

Police say they ordered him to stop but he refused. Police chased him and after a short struggle he was arrest for carrying a stolen shotgun and several rounds of ammunition as a convicted felon.
