CHICAGO – Josh Hamilton hit two home runs, Albert Pujols also connected and the Los Angeles went deep a season-high five times in a 13-2 rout of the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday night.
Mark Trumbo and Brendan Harris also homered for the Angels.

All five of the Angels’ home runs were no-doubters. They hit a pair during a five-run first inning and then followed with three more in a six-run fifth, providing more than enough support for C.J. Wilson (9-6).
The Angels have won 11 of 14. Once 12 games under .500, they are now within two games of .500; since June 12 they have the best record in baseball at 17-8.
The Cubs had their four-game winning streak snapped, a day after they hit five home runs to beat the Angels, 7-2.
CARDINALS 5, ASTROS 4: Matt Carpenter hit a two-run home run and Matt Holliday drove in two with a two-out hit to help St. Louis beat visiting Houston.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
YANKEES 8, ROYALS 1: Robinson Cano hit a three-run homer, Lyle Overbay added a grand slam and host New York snapped out of its offensive funk.
Ivan Nova delivered another impressive pitching performance and the Yankees, held to one run each of the previous three days, stopped a three-game slide.
TIGERS 8, WHITE SOX 5: Prince Fielder homered, Rick Porcello pitched six solid innings and Detroit won at home.
ORIOLES 6, RANGERS 1: Wei-Yin Chen returned from the disabled list to pitch seven innings of three-hit ball, and Baltimore got a three-run homer from Nolan Reimold to beat visiting Texas.
Manny Machado had three hits and an RBI for the Orioles, who won for only the third time in nine games.
Chen (4-3) had not pitched since May 12 because of a strained right oblique.
BLUE JAYS 5, INDIANS 4: Munenori Kawasaki hit a two-run single with the bases loaded in the ninth inning and Toronto won at Cleveland.
Kawasaki, who broke an 0-for-18 slump, lined a 1-2 pitch from Joe Smith into left-center field to score two runs. A third run scored when center fielder Michael Bourn booted the ball for an error.
NATIONAL LEAGUE
NATIONALS 5, PHILLIES 1: Gio Gonzalez tossed seven sharp innings and Washington hit a pair of consecutive homers off Cliff Lee to win at Philadelphia.
Anthony Rendon and Wilson Ramos hit back-to-back shots off Lee to start the fifth, and Ryan Zimmerman and Jayson Werth did it to open the sixth.
REDS 6, BREWERS 2: Mike Leake scattered four hits over 81/3 innings and Brandon Phillips had three RBI, lifting Cincinnati at Milwaukee.
MARLINS 6, BRAVES 2: Giancarlo Stanton hit a two-run double to end a 10-game RBI drought as host Miami broke a five-game losing streak.
Stanton had been in a 3-for-26 slump before he put the Marlins ahead in their four-run first inning against Paul Maholm (9-8). Placido Polanco added three hits and three RBI.
METS 7, GIANTS 2: Former Giants prospect Zack Wheeler pitched seven sharp innings, Marlon Byrd homered again and New York completed its first sweep in San Francisco since 1994.
