Two teenagers face charges of kidnapping a man and holding him inside a home in Chelsea.

Ricardo David Perry, 18, of East Stroudsburg, Pa., and Eugene Charleston, 19, of Bridgeport, Conn., were arrested on charges of kidnapping, said Maine State Police Lt. David Tripp. They are being held without bail in the Kennebec County jail.

The victim, whom police did not identify, was reportedly in good condition. “Based on the investigation, we believe the victim and suspects know each other,” Tripp said.

A man called police at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday and said he was being held against his will, Tripp said.

State Trooper Jon Leach arrived at the house and reached the man who had called. The caller told Leach he thought his captors, who reportedly had held him in the house overnight, were armed, Tripp said.

Moments later, the man ran out of house, chased by two men, Tripp said. The men fled from Leach and other troopers. After a foot chase, they were taken into custody, Tripp said.

State police, as well as agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and Kennebec County sheriff’s deputies, spent much of Wednesday searching the home. Tripp wouldn’t say if drugs or weapons were uncovered during that search. He said additional information would be available in the next few days.
