SCARBOROUGH — A new $6.2 million facility for people with intellectual disabilities is going up on Gorham Road.
Casa Inc. is breaking ground on the new building Friday afternoon.
The new facility, which replaces another Casa building, will be home to 16 people. U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development is funding the project.
USDA Rural Development State Director Virginia Manuel, Casa Executive Director Anne Walp and Maine Department of Health and Human Services Commissioner Mary Mayhew are attending the groundbreaking ceremony at 1 p.m. Friday at 148 Gorham Road.
