DETROIT – Evidence collected over the weekend as part of the investigation into the suspicious death of a Main Street man is being examined this week at the state police crime laboratory in Augusta, authorities said.

The body of Ricky Cole, 47, was discovered early Thursday inside the mobile home he was renting at 24 Main St.

An autopsy was performed Friday at the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta, but the cause of death was not released Monday pending further information, according to office administrator Mark Belserene.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said Monday that the death still is considered suspicious but has not been classified as a homicide.

McCausland said detectives from the state police Major Crimes Unit continued work over the weekend and again Monday.

McCausland said there were no new developments in the case as of Monday afternoon.
